Acronis True Image Success Story Video Gaming Technologies, Inc. (VGT)
The SituationIn business since 1991, VGT's owner brings more than twenty
years experience and a proven track record to Class II gaming. Led
by its founder, Jon Yarbrough, VGT has provided quality games in
markets throughout the United States. Beginning with the popular Class III Riverboat Queen multi-game
system initially introduced in the Louisiana market and continuing
through a line of games that includes Vegas Blackjack and the
current Treasure Quest series of Class II games, VGT consistently
develops games that customers love. With thrilling 3-D graphics,
CD.quality sound and hit ratios that keep players playing, VGT's
games set the standard in markets as diverse as South Carolina
and Oklahoma. VGT's success is the product of technological innovation and in-depth knowledge of gaming markets. First to the Oklahoma
marketplace with LCD touch screens, stepper-reel live-draw
bingo games and a revolutionary narrow-width gaming cabinet
that lets facilities place two machines in the space traditionally
taken by one game, VGT's reputation is well-earned.
Key ChallengesVGT needed a solution that could clone servers quickly and
accurately for deployment to the field. In addition, it was also
looking for a backup and recovery solution for servers.
VGT reviewed a number of other imaging products in addition to
shareware and freeware alternatives. Each product was
evaluated using the same hardware to provide a consistent
benchmark. Acronis was quick and worked without any flaws.
Complete SuccessVGT has implemented Acronis True Image 8.0 Enterprise Server.
Ten servers are currently running the solution, representing about
40% of the existing servers in use at the company today. Minimal
training was required for implementation to ensure that engineers
understood how the product views backup images. The product is
used in two ways: 1) to clone new servers for deployment and 2)
to backup existing servers to disk.
Clone a Server in Hours Rather Than DaysVGT can now clone servers in a few hours rather than a few days. The company has not yet tested the
solution to recover a server, but expects that a restore could be done in hours rather than days as well. The
company is currently moving to backup all servers to disk as opposed to tape, to decrease the time to restore.

Acronis True Image Enterprise Server meets all of our requirements. We can now clone servers
for deployment in a few hours, rather than a few days. We also have peace of mind, knowing that
each server running the solution can be restored within hours, in case of failure.
